Pavan Kumar
Pavan Kumar is a PhD candidate in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science, at the University of Texas at Dallas. Pavan is a Graduate Fellow in the prestigious Archer Fellowship Program. The Archer Program develops next generation of leaders and problem-solves for local, state, federal, and international service from The University of Texas System.
Pavan is a passionate researcher, visionary, and builder. His doctoral research focuses on students' Engineering Identity and the various influences in the university shaping it. Pavan is a fervent advocate of reforms in higher education in STEM disciplines in the US. He has worked with Governments and Industry at various levels to implement systemic changes to better support STEM education and the workforce. During his doctoral studies, Pavan has served as a Research Assistant in programs focused on AI and automation in manufacturing.
Earlier, Pavan worked in technical and managerial roles, and founded and directed several high-impact organizations in India. Pavan has been a champion in the Maker Movement in India, which paved the way for many successful startups. In his last venture in India, Pavan led a billionaire philanthropist's nonprofit organization dedicated to innovations and impact in the healthcare sector.
