Kentucky Christian University Selects Cohort Science

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Richardson, TX — [December 19, 2025] — Kentucky Christian University (KCU) has entered into a new agreement with Cohort Science, a higher education data science firm specializing in using data to help colleges and universities improve enrollment, retention, and student satisfaction. The collaboration will support KCU’s online expansion strategy and provide the institution with the data-driven insights necessary to increase online enrollment and strengthen its competitive position across faith-centered higher education markets.

Under the new agreement, Cohort Science will conduct a holistic evaluation of both new and existing academic programs. The project encompasses an integrated assessment of program demand, labor-market alignment, competitor offerings, student decision behaviors, geographic opportunity, brand perception, and price-sensitivity indicators. This unified approach will give KCU a comprehensive understanding of where the strongest opportunities exist to grow and sustain new and existing online degree programs.

Raj Lalsare, Founder and CEO of Cohort Science, emphasized the alignment between the two organizations, noting: “We are honored to support Kentucky Christian University in advancing its mission to develop Christian leaders grounded in faith, service, and academic excellence. KCU’s commitment to stewardship and intentional, data-driven decision-making aligns beautifully with our purpose at Cohort Science. By integrating deep cohort analysis, market intelligence, and missional context, we look forward to helping KCU grow new and existing programs.”

KCU’s new initiative comes at a time of increased demand for high-quality online programs—especially those rooted in Christian worldview and service leadership. As part of this engagement, Cohort Science will conduct scorecard-based evaluations of selected new and existing programs.

Reflecting on the University’s goals, John Penrose, Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing at Kentucky Christian University, highlighted the strategic significance of the partnership: “KCU is committed to expanding access to high-quality, Christ-centered academic programs, especially for adult learners seeking online options. Cohort Science brings the analytical rigor, higher-education expertise, and missional understanding we need to ensure our new programs meet genuine student, workforce, and ministry needs. We are excited to partner together in a way that advances both our enrollment goals and our calling as a Christian university.”

The collaboration is grounded in a shared belief that evidence-based decision-making, paired with faith-driven mission, creates the most sustainable pathway for program growth. By combining rigorous analysis with a deep respect for KCU’s history, identity, and purpose, both organizations aim to position the University for long-term enrollment success and greater impact in Christian higher education.
